Richard J. Kowalski
Richard J. Kowalski Senior Vice President, Investments Co-Branch Manager

Rich serves as an invaluable strategic planning partner to his clients as they endeavor to achieve their important financial objectives. He focuses on planning, specifically in regard to estate, tax strategies, asset allocation and fixed income or “bond” investments. He has 31 years of industry experience and is authorized as a financial professional to work with the public finance department of Raymond James.

He first became interested in the industry during college intern programs at Thomson McKinnon and Merrill Lynch. Upon graduating from the University of Vermont with a Bachelor of Arts in political science, Rich started his career in 1986 with Hutton Investment Management, a division of E.F. Hutton in New York.

Once he decided to become a financial advisor, Rich moved to Vermont in 1989 and started with Merrill Lynch. After 10 years of working as a sole practitioner, Rich joined forces with George Ewins Sr. and George Ewins Jr.

Having specialized in bond investments, Rich’s practice was a natural complement to the Ewins’ stock-focused practice. Together they created complete asset allocation models for their clients and holistic financial planning services. Several years into his tenure as a Raymond James advisor, Rich is firm in his opinion that the move has benefited their clients. The sophistication of the global resources available to the team and the firm’s client-first culture have enabled them in providing disciplined, strategic approaches that are customized to each investor and institution they support.

Rich and his wife, Robin, reside in Burlington, Vermont, where they raised their four children, Jack, Peter, Katie and Libby.
